BELGRADE Serbian PM Ivica Dacic told Reuters that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) was not behind a smear campaign aimed against him. He said that he and First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic, a leader of the SNS, were working "in complete accord" and he rejected any claim of the SNS’ involvement. SNS not behind smear campaign, PM says "This is an attack on the unity of the government and an attempt by certain forces to force elections at a time when the government has many pressing and crucial issues to deal with," the prime minister said. "We believe the SNS is a fully credible partner and we want to stress that there is unity within the government," he added. Dacic therefore rejected a statement given to Reuters by an unnamed high-ranking official of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) earlier on Saturday that the Progressives were behind the campaign aimed against the prime minister. The PM told a press conference on Saturday afternoon that this was an attempt to discredit the government and him personally but that it had failed. He confirmed he had met several times with member of runaway drug lord Darko Saric’s gang Rodoljub Radulovic but that he had not had information that Radulovic was a criminal.
