Minister, UAE company sign preliminary agreement

ABU DHABI Serbian Finance and Economy Minster Mladjan Dinkic and Al Dahra Agricultural Company signed a preliminary agreement in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The agreement between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) envisages investments in the Serbian agriculture, the Serbian Finance Ministry said in a release. Under the preliminary agreement, the leading UAE agro-industrial company Al Dahra will invest around EUR 200mn as part of a joint investment project in eight state-owned agricultural farms.

Al Dahra will invest EUR 100mnn in the construction of irrigation systems and the purchase of modern equipment while the other EUR 100mn will go into acquiring an 80 percent stake in joint enterprises, in which the state of Serbia will retain a 20 percent owner's share.
