BELGRADE Prime Minister Ivica Dacic has sent his congratulations to Gabriel Arcanjo Ferreira da Costa, who was elected new prime minister of Sao Tome and Principe. “On behalf of the government of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf I extend to you my sincere congratulations and best wishes for the successful performance of your responsible duty", Dacic wrote, and added: PM congratulates new Sao Tomean counterpart “I take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the decision to veto the decision to recognize the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo and Metohija, which was adopted by the previous government of Sao Tome and Principe in March 2012," Dacic said in his message. “The tradition of good relations between our two countries has been once again confirmed by this important and just act,” the Serbian prime minister said, quoted by the government's media relations office in a release.
