BELGRADE PM Ivica Dacic says "it is not good" that one of his ministers publicly criticized the appointment of a show business manager to the Ministry of Transport. Economy and Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic made the comments after it was announced that Sasa Mirkovic had been made assistant minister of transport. PM reacts to controversy over appointment "Dinkic presented his personal opinion and I think we need to continue to stick to the practice of discussing all issues during the meetings of the coalition chiefs, rather than in public," Dacic told Beta in Belgrade on Friday. The prime minister noted that Dinkic's statements, which he described as "not good", also likely came as a consequence of "relations that exist in Zajecar between Bosko Nicic and Sasa Mirkovic". "It is not customary and has not been the case so far, and will not be in the future, for personnel solutions made by other members of the coalition to be commented on (in public)," he added. "The government's Personnel Commission is considering all these proposals and that is where objections, if any exist, should be made." Earlier in the day, Dinkic told the media that it was "completely nonsensical" that his personal opinion on the appointment of Mirkovic "should be transferred to the inter-party level". On Thursday, Dinkic said that while each minister was free to choose their own associates, he would "never hire Mirkovic". SNS party Vice-Presidnt Zorana Mihajlovic reacted strongly to this, seeking an urgent session of the SNS presidency from the party's leader and Serbia's First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic. And while the SNS on Friday called the session, Sasa Mirkovic also decided to react to the controversy publicly - by saying that Dinkic was guilty of "destroying Serbia's economy".
