BELGRADE Opposition Democratic Party (DS) leader Dragan Djilas has called on all members who disagree with the party's political course to say it publicly - and leave. “As long as I am president this will be a uniform party with one policy and one place where decisions are made - the Presidency and the Main Board,” Djilas told his party colleagues at a session of the DS Main Board. Democrats to have "one policy, one decision-making center" He underlined that making new parties from the DS and new caucuses from DS members through the media and in agreement with the ruling parties is not fair. The DS has to realize that it is in the opposition and strengthen in order to present a realistic policy which would be contrary to the policy of populism and demagogy conducted by the current government, Djilas underlined. “We have been in power for a long time, and we have forgotten a bit what it looks like to be the opposition,” Djilas said. “We live in a country in which people are becoming scared as a large space is left for the operation of ultra nationalist organizations, and lists are being made of suitable and unsuitable journalists and people in culture, while tabloids are making arrest lists,” Djilas said. Djilas urged the ruling coalition to stop deceiving citizens with unrealistic policy on Kosovo and Metohija, but said that it is certainly necessary to define the red lines that Serbia will not cross. Dragan Djilas (Beta) DS passes initiative on MP resignations The Main Committee of the Democratic Party (DS) on Thursday passed an initiative asking the party's MPs who served as ministers in the previous government to resign from parliament, said MP and former cabinet minister Dusan Petrovic. During a break from the committee meeting, Petrovic told reporters that he would not obey the directive. He said this was no longer an issue and could only interest the people who were "focused on retaliation inside the DS and who want to show in this inappropriate way that they have the majority in the Main Committee." Petrovic did not say whether he expected to be expelled from the party and whether he was planning on acting as an MP of the DS, an independent MP or as part of some other parliamentary group.
