Gazprom opens first gas station in Belgrade

Gazprom Neft's subsidiary Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) opened Tuesday the first gas station in Belgrade under the Gazprom brand.

BELGRADE Gazprom Neft's subsidiary Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) opened Tuesday the first gas station in Belgrade under the Gazprom brand. Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said on the occasion that this and other NIS' investment projects would be a great contribution to Serbia's economic development. Gazprom opens first gas station in Belgrade He also said that the energy agreement between Serbia and Russia had proved to be very good, because, besides NIS' investments, Serbia would also have benefit from the income received from the South Stream gas pipeline. “In the first phase, the incomes will amount to EUR 200mn and when the pipeline reaches its full capacity they will be around EUR 500mn a year,” the Serbian prime minister said at the opening of the gas station. The first gas station in Serbia and the Balkans under the Gazprom brand was opened on Pancevacki put St. near Belgrade in the presence of Gazprom Board of Directors Deputy President Anatoly Cherner and NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko. Kravchenko announced that by 2015 there would be around 60 Gazprom premium gas stations in Serbia and several hundred in the Balkans - in Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and other countries. He added that NIS had restored around 100 gas stations under the NIS Petrol brand and that by 2015 it would have 350 gas stations for mass market consumption. “The goal of NIS is to become a leader in retail as well,” explained Kravchenko.
