BELGRADE Deputy PM Suzana Grubjesic says there is "a wrong thesis" that a solution for northern Kosovo necessarily implies the abolition of Serb institutions. "A solution for the north has to be found not because that is someone's request or condition for a start date, but because the position of Serbs in the north would become much worse than it is today without a solution that would be accepted by all three sides in the dialogue,“ Grubjesic said in an interview for the Belgrade-based tabloid Blic. "Solution doesn't mean abolishment of institutions" "It is necessary to arrive at a lasting agreement through the dialogue with the authorities in Pristina not only for the north, but also for all the enclaves south of the Ibar River in which the Serbs constitute a majority," she underscored. As regards the platform on Kosovo, the deputy prime minister for EU integration says that it will not be delivered with a view to obtaining a start date for the EU entry talks, but that it "is a political basis for the dialogue with Pristina." Grubjesic, who is in charge of EU integration, said that she was at the meetings that were convened by the Serbian president, that they addressed the platform, adding that all further details will be known this week during a parliamentary debate. “I expect that the platform will get the broadest political and social support, as very important state decisions will be made in the coming months,” Grubjesic said.
