Minister says WHO supports Serbia's health reforms

COPENHAGEN The World Health Organization (WHO) is supporting Serbia's health system reforms, Serbian Health Minister Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic stated on Wednesday. Serbia also plans to carry out those reforms with the WHO assistance, she announced. Minister says WHO supports Serbia's health reforms The minister met with WHO Regional Director for Europe Zsuzsanna Jakab, and stated afterward that the reforms in the Serbian health system will continue in line with the instructions included in the document entitled "Health 2020". Djukic-Dejanovic underlined in a phone statement for Tanjug that the talks tabled very concrete issues relating to the need for strengthening of the primary health care and public health and networking for the purpose of monitoring data on health condition of Serbian citizens. Djukic-Dejanovic is paying a visit to the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen on Wednesday, during which she is scheduled to meet with heads of the Division of Information, Evidence, Research and Innovation. The topic of the talks in Copenhagen will be a special project of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, including the implementation of the "Health 2020" policy at the national level, the statement reads.
