BELGRADE Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic has been summoned by the police to come for questioning on Monday, December 3, the company said in a release on Thursday. Miskovic will respond to the request, says the release. Delta Holding owner to be questioned about Delreal case A long and comprehensive investigation into the company's operation has recently been conducted, answering all questions, according to the release. Daily Blic has learnt that Miskovic will be questioned about the Delreal case and the fact that the right to use the land between E-70 and E-75 highways in New Belgrade was “converted” to the ownership right. According to the daily, instead of paying for taking ownership over the land, it turns out that the state owes Miskovic, i.e. Delreal company, around EUR 1mn. Delreal is one of 24 controversial cases whose investigation the EU requested. The company bought 15 hectares of land in Belgrade near the highway. In April 2011, the Belgrade authorities decided, based on the Law on Planning and Construction, to do a conversion of the land. According to Anti-Corruption Council President Verica Barac, the conversion caused damages worth EUR 50mn. Since the conversion was done without any compensation, the Public Prosecution reacted at the time. First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic recently told B92 that Miskovic was being investigated. Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said earlier that an investigation would be launched against the Delta Holding owner if there was evidence he committed any criminal offense. “This is what Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic was talking about, that there are cases on the list of controversial privatizations that will be investigated till the end,” he stressed.
