BELGRADE First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic says the ruling coalition and the government will reach an agreement on fight against those who ruined the country. He wrote on his Facebook profile that he was sure that an agreement on the most efficient way of combat against corruption would be reached. Theft does not pay, deputy PM says “A message in the first 100 days of the government’s work to everybody who created their empires by using the state money and taking advantage of the country and people’s misfortune is that it does not pay to steal, that the justice will prevail sooner or later,” Vucic quoted a part of the interview he gave to Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik. “We are thinking about changing the Constitution, like Croatia, and declaring the theft of the state money a crime that would have no statute of limitations, just like war crimes and we will discus a way to implement the law on the origin of assets. We are making sure that everything is in accordance with the European practice and that we do not pass anything that would originally ours but what already exists in the world,” the deputy PM said. He added that he had “a hotline with Washington and Berlin” when necessary. Aleksandar Vucic (Beta, file) B92 Beta
