Anti-Serb graffiti appear in Hungary

Anti-Serb graffiti have been painted on a Serbian Orthodox church in the town of Szentendre near Budapest, Hungarian MTI news agency has reported.

BUDAPEST Anti-Serb graffiti have been painted on a Serbian Orthodox church in the town of Szentendre near Budapest, Hungarian MTI news agency has reported. Hungarian police have stated that vandals have spray-painted the walls of the Serbian Orthodox church and a memorial plaque of Serbian writer Jakov Ignjatovic in the last two days. Anti-Serb graffiti appear in Hungary Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) priest in Budapest Father Zoran told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) on Friday night that the graffiti had been painted on the church, among others “Death to Chetniks”. He said that graffiti saying “Go back to your Serbia” were painted on the memorial plaque and on the walls of the Serbian school, adding that flyers with similar texts were handed out in the town. MTI stressed that the investigation was underway. SPC Budapest Eparchy’s headquarters is located in Szentendre. Serbian museum, library and archive are also located in the town and they are of utmost importance for the remaining Serbs in Szentendre.
