SKOPJE Serbia’s President Tomislav Nikolic continued his official three-day visit to Macedonia on Saturday. Nikolic met with Macedonian top officials in Skopje on Friday. Serbian president continues visit to Macedonia On the second day of his visit he visited three Serbian households in the village of Sretenovo and then he attended a traditional manifestation dubbed Rakijada together with Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov. Nikolic will attend the ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Kumanovo and lay a wreath to honor fallen heroes on Sunday. The Serbian president met with Ivanov, Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Macedonian parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanovski on Friday. He stressed that Serbia and Macedonia had a common past and that they should built a common future. Nikolic added that both Serbia and Macedonia wanted to join the EU but that they requested respect from the Union. "Since Serbia and Macedonia have a similar problem to solve in order to become EU members, I think it points us to the closest possible cooperation,” he underscored.
