BELGRADE, ABU DHABI Serbia represents a good destination for investments from the United Arab Emirates, Serbia’s Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic has said. The Serbian government delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Dinkic, talked to United Arab Emirates President Sheik Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan about cooperation in the field of defense and improvement of the two countries’ economic relations. Members of the two delegations discussed a possible export of the Serbian arms and ammunition to the United Arab Emirates, joint projects for development and production of missile systems and supersonic training planes, the Serbian government’s Media Office has released. “Sheik Mohammed is very interested in investing in the Serbian agriculture and we have agreed to have joint investments. We will start drafting an inter-state agreement on cooperation in agriculture and agricultural industry and we expect joint investments that will primarily be initiated by them and worth several hundreds of millions of euros,” Dinkic said. According to him, these will be the biggest investments in the Serbian agriculture in the last several years and they will primarily focus on intensive production at state farms and construction of large irrigation systems in order to increase the quality of the agricultural production and to increase export. The United Arab Emirates is the second richest Arab country with one of the highest GDPs in the world.
