BELGRADE Mikulas Dzurinda has been appointed as new adviser to Suzana Grubjesic, Serbian deputy PM in charge of EU integrations, it has been announced. Dzurinda - who previously served as his country's prime minister and foreign minister - will perform this role without pay, Beta reported. Ex-Slovakian PM new adviser to Serbian minister During his eight-year tenure as prime minister, Slovakia joined the EU in 2004, the agency further noted. Speaking for B92, he stated that Serbia must focus on radical internal reforms. "This means, above all, that the economy should be strengthened, more jobs created - especially for young people - and more chances made for the arrival of new investments. Another important thing is the judicial reform, which means better implementation of laws and less corruption on all levels of public governance," Dzurinda explained, and added: "Serbia has before it an important step of entering the process of normalization of relations with Pristina, which is above all in the interest of your country, regardless of whether Kosovo is viewed as a part of Serbia or an independent state." During his eight-year tenure as prime minister, Slovakia joined the EU in 2004, the agency further noted.
