BELGRADE Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic says he is planning on taking combat against corruption to the very end. He added that he hoped that the government would be in crisis because of it. "Serbia will continue combat against corruption" Vucic did not want to comment whether the money trail in Nuba Invest case led back for former Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Oliver Dulic or the Democratic Party (DS) and said that this was a question for prosecutors. Dulic is suspected of abuse of office and illegal issuing of permits for mounting of optical cables while he was the minister. The deputy prime minister also did not want to comment on speculations that another minister would soon be arrested for corruption and whether the current investigation into the optical cables case would include current Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjic. “I do not know that but I know that nobody will be able to hide – not some Vucic or Dacic. I publicly said ten days ago that I expected attacks from all sides. I said I expected that those would be both politicians and tycoons. As you can see, they have already joined forces,” Vucic stressed. “They have turned on me and all the people who fight against corruption. They will come at us even harder, but politicians, tycoons and media cannot defeat the state and its determination,” he underscored. When asked whether his combat against corruption could cause crisis in the government, Vucic said that he hoped that it would not. Aleksandar Vucic (Beta, file) Kurir

Vučić did not want to comment whether the money trail in Nuba Invest case led back for former Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Oliver Dulić or the Democratic Party (DS) and said that this was a question for prosecutors.

Dulić is suspected of abuse of office and illegal issuing of permits for mounting of optical cables while he was the minister.

The deputy prime minister also did not want to comment on speculations that another minister would soon be arrested for corruption and whether the current investigation into the optical cables case would include current Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjić.

“I do not know that but I know that nobody will be able to hide – not some Vučić or Dačić. I publicly said ten days ago that I expected attacks from all sides. I said I expected that those would be both politicians and tycoons. As you can see, they have already joined forces,” Vučić stressed.

“They have turned on me and all the people who fight against corruption. They will come at us even harder, but politicians, tycoons and media cannot defeat the state and its determination,” he underscored.

When asked whether his combat against corruption could cause crisis in the government, Vučić said that he hoped that it would not.
