BELGRADE German Ambassador to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm says Germany's stand on Serbia's further EU integration will depend on Serbia’s platform on the strategy for Kosovo, “We are waiting for the Serbian government to present its platform, so the stand of Germany is not clear yet,” Wilhelm told reporters at a reception on the occasion of 22nd anniversary of German reunification held at the embassy premises on Wednesday evening. Germany to “wait for Serbia's strategy on Kosovo” The German ambassador repeated that no new conditions were attached to Serbia's EU membership and noted that “everything has already been made clear to the Serbian government, and nothing has changed”. Wilhelm underlined that Germany backed the statement of the Serbian authorities that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina would be upgraded, underlining that the dialogue was the best solution for all. Addressing the guests at the reception, Wilhelm said that Serbia's place was in the EU and that the EU was not complete without it. “I have been pleased to hear that the new government set the EU accession as its central goal. I will spare no effort to back Serbia's further EU integration,” the German ambassador said. “Throughout history, Serbs and Germans have not always been friends, but today they are, which is illustrated by the fact that Germany is Serbia's top trading partner,” Wilhelm said.
