Parliament accepts LSV leader’s resignation

The Serbian parliament verified Thursday the resignation League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) leader Nenad Čanak to the position of MP.

BELGRADE The Serbian parliament verified Thursday the resignation League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) leader Nenad Canak to the position of MP. Parliament verified Canak’s resignation after the Parliamentary Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues accepted his resignation. Parliament accepts LSV leader’s resignation The Republic Electoral Commission will hold a session on Thursday in order to propose a new MP to the empty seat. Canak officially resigned on Wednesday. He told reporters in the parliament on Tuesday that he had punched a man and took part in an incident in a restaurant in Novi Sad. Previously, he claimed that he was not involved in the assault. Parliament accepts LSV leader’s resignation

The Republic Electoral Commission will hold a session on Thursday in order to propose a new MP to the empty seat.

Čanak officially resigned on Wednesday. He told reporters in the parliament on Tuesday that he had punched a man and took part in an incident in a restaurant in Novi Sad.

Previously, he claimed that he was not involved in the assault.

Čanak resigned so that he could not be accused of using the MP immunity in the announced trial over the incident.
