DAMASCUS The Syrian government held a brief meeting on Monday attended by all ministers, led by new Prime Minister Omar Ghalawanji. This was announced by Minister of Information Omran Zoabi, who was denying allegations that two of his colleagues had left the country along with the former prime minister. Reacting to the claims of the opposition Syrian National Council, Zoabi told the Syrian television that the government meeting was attended by all ministers, Reuters reported.

"The meeting was attended by all ministers. What is being said about some ministers is not true," he added.

The Syrian television showed footage of the session of the cabinet.

The Syrian National Council previously announced that two ministers and three senior officers had fled to Jordan along with former PM Riad Hijab.
