Russian and German counterparts congratulate new Serbian PM

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Friday congratulated his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dačić on his election to the office, it has been announced.

BELGRADE Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Friday congratulated his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic on his election to the office, it has been announced. In the message, Medvedev stressed that relations between Russia and Serbia were being built based on centuries-old tradition, friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Russian and German counterparts congratulate new Serbian PM "We are oriented toward actively working together with the government of Serbia in order to further develop our mutually beneficial partnership, and promote large economic and investment project, which benefits the interests of the peoples of the two countries, and contributes to the stability and security of Europe and the Balkans," Medvedev stressed. Meanwhile in Berlin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel congratulated Dacic and expressed her hope that Serbia "would continue on the path of reforms and approaching the EU". Merkel's message further reads that she hoped Serbia would continue to approach the EU through further reforms and normalization of "neighborly relations" with Kosovo.
