NEW YORK UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will start a six-day tour of the Western Balkans on Friday. He will visit all countries created after the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, with July 23 reserved for Serbia. UN head to start Balkans tour on Friday The UN head will first travel to Slovenia and then go on to Zagreb and Podgorica. On July 23 in Belgrade, Ban will meet with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, PM-Designate Ivica Dacic and incoming president of the UN General Assembly Vuk Jeremic. The next day he will travel to Pristina, where he is set to meet with representatives of UNMIK, international and regional organizations and the Kosovo authorities. While in Kosovo, he will visit the Visoki Decani monastery, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and the city of Prizren. Ban has said his visit to Kosovo is taking place in a wider context of his visit to the Western Balkans region and has been organizedin line with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
