Serbia's trade deficit up by 11.1 percent last year

Serbia's trade deficit in 2011 added up to EUR5.8 billion, 11.1 percent more than in 2010, the Serbian Statistical Office said on Tuesday, Beta is reporting.

BELGRADE Serbia's trade deficit in 2011 added up to EUR5.8 billion, 11.1 percent more than in 2010, the Serbian Statistical Office said on Tuesday, Beta is reporting. According to the final data on Serbia's trade last year, exports grew 14.2 percent, hitting EUR 8.4 billion. Exports covered 59.3 percent of imports, an increase against 2010's 58.5 percent.

The widest gap was in trade with Russia, due to the import of fuel, followed by China, Germany and Hungary.
