BELGRADE A structure to which former Serbian President Boris Tadic might move to now that he is no longer in office is yet to be found, a Belgrade-based daily writes. Tabloid Blic reports, quoting sources from his Democratic Party (DS), that "houses in diplomatic neighborhoods that are safe from the security standpoint are being considered". Suitable home still being picked for former president Meanwhile, Serbia's new president Tomislav Nikolic, still lives in his own apartment and will not move to his official residence in the Dedinje neighborhood - on the corner of Lackoviceva and Uzicka streets - until the DS finds a new house for Tadic. Several days ago, the Democrats said that "the process was under way", and stated that "the problem was of a security nature since Tadic played a great role in fighting organized crime". Nikolic also spoke about the issue, saying his predecessor would have "all kinds of protection from the state". Tadic lost his bid to be elected for a third term in the presidential elections runoff on May 20. He is now entitled to his honorary title of "former president of the Republic", as well as salary from the state until he finds a job or becomes eligible to retire. Should he remain unemployed until his retirement, Tadic will receive a check each month in the amount of 80 percent of his presidential salary. For the next eight years, he can also use office space, and have an adviser and secretary, along with an official vehicle - the latter "only when he conducts business in his role as former president of the Republic". Tadic will also be given security "for a year, or for as long as there are justifiable reasons", a diplomatic passport, and access to archives from the period of time when he served as the country's president.
