BELGRADE I still cannot imagine that (Socialist Party of Serbia leader Ivica) Dacic will be a PM, says former Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) MP Vesna Pesic. According to her, it is the Democrats’ fault because they forgave them everything and amnestied them. New government is mistake, ex-MP claims When asked whether she believed that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), SPS and United Regions of Serbia (URS) could form the government, she said: “I did not, just like I could not imagine that the SPS would join the previous one. But it is the fault of the Democratic Party (DS) because it forgave everything to the Socialists and amnestied them. They enjoyed the greatest love while they were together,” Pesic told daily Press. She stressed she saw the new government “as a mistake and a proof that our election law is idiotic”. “I did not even vote for them. Not a single one of us who went to the polls voted for this kind of the government. It’s the same with the last government, because nobody could imagine such a coalition but it happened anyway. Some other parties should mull over the issue and this is why it is necessary to change the election law,” the former MP explained. Pesic noted that she, however, expected the new government to start doing its job. “The last government was not good, it did a bad job, this one has to work hard and to do its job seriously,” she was quoted as saying. When asked whether she ever imagined Dacic as a prime minister, she said she did not. “I did not and I still cannot. First of all, he needs to be elected. He is not a prime minister yet. We will have to wait that he gets the support in parliament first. If and when he takes office we will talk about what Serbia can expect from him,” Pesic concluded. Vesna Pesic (Tanjug, file) Press

She stressed she saw the new government “as a mistake and a proof that our election law is idiotic”.

“I did not even vote for them. Not a single one of us who went to the polls voted for this kind of the government. It’s the same with the last government, because nobody could imagine such a coalition but it happened anyway. Some other parties should mull over the issue and this is why it is necessary to change the election law,” the former MP explained.

Pešić noted that she, however, expected the new government to start doing its job.

When asked whether she ever imagined Dačić as a prime minister, she said she did not.
