Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic's participation in the Croatia Summit was "a mockery of official state policy," says a DSS party spokesman. At a news conference on Monday, Petar Petkovic said Serbia boycotted the Croatia Summit on account on the involvement of "(Kosovo) Albanian separatists," and added that by attending, the former Serbian president "made a laughing stock of the state policy which he himself had stood behind until recently". DSS party takes swipe at Tadic for his "disgrace" "Shaking hands with Hashim Thaci is a disgrace and the worst form of humiliation a Serbian politician could stoop to," said Petkovic. He noted that all of this happened the same day two Serb returnees were murdered in Kosovo, adding that Thaci not only "killed innocent Serbs, but is directly responsible for human organ trafficking." "Tadic is well aware that in 2008 when the separatists declared the so-called independent state of Kosovo, the Serbian Interior Ministry brought criminal charges against Thaci," said Petkovic. He added that Tadic's move was hypocritical in light of the fact that he had refused to meet with Thaci for the past four years. Asked to comment on the visit of U.S. officials at the time Serbia is in the process of forming a government, Petkovic said that although they claimed they were not influencing the process, their timing was "telling". "The people voted for changes and, unlike in 2008, this government will be the choice of the Serbian people, not of foreigners," the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) spokesman concluded.
