Democratic Party (DS) Presidency member Borislav Stefanovic has said that the DS will not dissolve. He added that there was no fight for supremacy but that the party was in for a major reshuffle in order to become stronger. DS in for major reshuffle, official says “There is no mystery. I will say once again, the party is not dissolving, but rather reorganizing. We must ascertain who acted in a high-handed manner, took advantage of the party and misused it. Unfortunately, we have such people in our lines, not only at a local level, but also at the very top,” Stefanovic told daily Vecernje novosti. Commenting on the remark that many see the exchange of barbs between Dragan Djilas and Vuk Jeremic in relation to the costs associated with Jeremic's presidency of the UN General Assembly as the start of intra-party conflicts, he said that it was beyond him “why every indication to something bad for both citizens and the party itself is interpreted as an intra-party conflict.” “I do not see the point of establishing the office, as there is already a UN Directorate at the Serbian Foreign Ministry, which hires 20 people. We discussed the issue at a DS Presidency meeting in a very negative context,” Stefanovic was quoted as saying. “In the shortest possible time frame, the party will have to face its mistakes through the democratic procedure, and change a bad practice and people who made these errors,” he noted. “We will see. The DS should emerge from these changes with a stronger, new team, clearly formulated policy and ideology,” Stefanovic said, underlining that the party's leadership was united and that “it will remain that way.” Borislav Stefanovic (Tanjug, file) Tanjug Vecernje novosti
