Former Serbian PM receives top RS accolade

Serb Republic (RS) President Milorad Dodik decorated on Thursday Serbia's former prime minister Vojislav Koštunica with the Serb entity's top accolade.

Serb Republic (RS) President Milorad Dodik decorated on Thursday Serbia's former prime minister Vojislav Kostunica with the Serb entity's top accolade. Kostunica was presented with the Medal of the RS, and said on the occasion that one of his greatest concerns had been the fate and prosperity of the RS. Former Serbian PM receives top RS accolade "The progress of Serbia and the RS is our national interest, the interest of the Serbs. I hope I have helped make RS what it is today and especially what it can be and will be tomorrow," said Kostunica, who heads the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS). "I thank you most sincerely for giving this great, the greatest of honours and I wish the RS would move forward in peace and prosperity to benefit the Serbs as a people and all of its citizens," Kostunica noted, the DSS stated. Kostunica remarked that the medal was the crowning achievement of all his work and that he dedicated it to the Serb people who still suffered in Kosovo and the Serbs in the RS and Serbia. Kostunica said he would forever remain a sincere friend of RS and that he would continue to focus all his efforts towards the development of the Serbs' national interest on both sides of the Drina River. Dodik presented Kostunica with the medal in honor of Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day), and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the entity. Head of the RS office in Israel Aire Livneu, former boxer Dragomir Batara, humanitarian Ljiljana Rikic and the Banja Luka Tamburica Orchestra also received medals.
