Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas was reelected on Wednesday and was supported by 63 councilors. His second four-year term started today. Djilas was first elected as the mayor on August 19 2008. Djilas re-elected as Belgrade mayor Tatjana Pasic was also reelected as deputy mayor. Natasa Milovanovic, Milena Bicanin, Darko Bozic, Vladan Djukic, Zoran Kostic, Marija Lekovic, Natasa Milosevic, Nikola Nikodijevic, Zeljko Ozegovic, Aco Petrovic, Milan Popovic and Slobodan Solevic are new members of the City Council. “We will continue to do what we have been doing so far, we will continue our fight for better Belgrade. We have already introduced measures that only exist in Belgrade. Now we primarily want to focus on the economy,” Djilas, who was the only candidate for the position, told B92. He added that the city authorities would in the next four years do their best to secure new jobs and investments. Mandates of 110 councilors were verified at a constitutive session of the City Assembly on Tuesday. Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official Aleksandar Antic was reelected as the Belgrade City Assembly speaker. The DS-led coalition has 50 seats in the city assembly, the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) 37, SPS-led coalition 13 and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) 10 seats. Tatjana Pašić was also reelected as deputy mayor.

Nataša Milovanović, Milena Bićanin, Darko Božić, Vladan Đukić, Zoran Kostić, Marija Leković, Nataša Milošević, Nikola Nikodijević, Željko Ožegović, Aco Petrović, Milan Popović and Slobodan Šolević are new members of the City Council.

“We will continue to do what we have been doing so far, we will continue our fight for better Belgrade. We have already introduced measures that only exist in Belgrade. Now we primarily want to focus on the economy,” Đilas, who was the only candidate for the position, told B92.
