After investigating a case in Miami when an attacker ate the flesh he bit off the face of his victim, local police said a new illegal narcotic had appeared. The drug cocktail seems to have the effect of "turning abusers into cannibals", according to reports. U.S.: New drug turning addicts into cannibals The Miami police also said that the new narcotic was similar to the synthetic drug ecstasy. Shortly after the first case - when officers were forced to shoot and kill the assailant who had at that point eaten about 75 percent of the flesh on his homeless victim's face - another similar incident occurred. A 21-year-old homeless man was arrested in a restaurant where he was causing disturbance. On the way to the police station, he reportedly bashed his head against a protective barrier in the police vehicle and threatened to "eat" the officers. Once they arrived at the station, the suspect "growled like an animal and tried to bite a policeman". He was then tied up and had a mask fitted on his face. The suspect tested positive for the new drug, as well as alcohol, marijuana, and medication. On Thursday, U.S. media reported another case when a Louisiana man "bit a chunk of his neighbor's face". As in previous similar cases, the drug cocktail, dubbed "bath salts", was reportedly abused by the attacker. B92 Beta
