Serbian Progressive Party (SNS)-led coalition presidential candidate Tomislav Nikolic has decided to take part in the second round of the presidential election. He told reporters in the northern Serbian town of Kikinda that he would call on his coalition’s candidates to take part in the second round of provincial elections in Vojvodina. SNS leader to take part in presidential run-off “They (the authorities) would of course declare victory, whether we participate or not. The rest would just destabilize Serbia in the worst possible moment,” Nikolic noted and added that the Progressives’ fight to determine “the true results” of the elections would not stop and that they would use all legal options. According to the SNS leader, “the citizens will learn the truth” if he becomes a president. He also told Democratic Party (DS)-led coalition’s presidential candidate Boris Tadic and his party that “the elections on May 20 need to be democratic, fair and honest”, “We will not allow them to trick us, even if the elections are not completed at polling stations where we notice the theft,” Nikolic pointed out. He said that he had not been officially informed about a TV debate with Tadic but that he had seen that the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) had announced that it would be held on Wednesday. The SNS leader said that it was not true that he was afraid of the debate. “I will go to the debate because this is an opportunity to tell Tadic in his face what he has become during these eight years in office and what I think Serbia can expect if he wins again,” Nikolic stressed. He added that it was a rare case that a party that won the elections requested their annulment and that he was convinced that his coalition won even more votes. According to the SNS leader, the current authorities “would not be able to form the government if real results were released”. Tomislav Nikolic (Tanjug) Tanjug
