Democratic Party (DS) deputy leader Dragan Djilas said Friday he did not see himself as prime minister right now. He adding that common sense would win in the runoff in the presidential election, as it had done in the May 6 general election. Belgrade mayor: I do not see myself as PM "The citizens of Belgrade voted for me as a mayor and gave me 36 percent of the vote. I have a responsibility to these people. I would like to see a serious government formed, but I do not see myself as prime minister right now," Djilas told daily Blic. He noted that while his election result qualified him for some other jobs as well, he should continue working for the city government. Djilas said a great majority of voters supported the policy of DS leader Boris Tadic and that his opponent Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic was also aware of this. "They are spinning a story of vote theft in the first round in order to explain to the voters that their candidate has a chance of winning, and that he even won in the first round but his votes were not tallied properly," stressed the Belgrade mayor, adding it was very important that people go to the polls on May 20.
