Film director Emir Kusturica was spotted standing in the front row during a ceremony in the Kremlin on Tuesday that saw President Vladimir Putin take office.

Film director Emir Kusturica was spotted standing in the front row during a ceremony in the Kremlin on Tuesday that saw President Vladimir Putin take office. Other film world celebrities who attended the event included former California Governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Serbian film director takes front row at Putin inauguration The Putin inauguration was attended by some 3,000 guests - members of both houses of Russia's parliament, judges of the Constitutional Court, government officials , religious leaders, diplomats, journalists and members of the business community, and was broadcast live on state television outlets. The renowned Serbian director - who is also known as a good friend of his Russian colleague and Putin supporter Nikita Mikhalkov - recently visited Russia to declare that if he were Russian - he'd vote for Putin. Two years ago, Kusturica received a medal given by the Russian Orthodox Church for his role in strengthening unity among Eastern Orthodox nations. Then Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was also among the recipients of the accolade presented by Patriarch Kirill.
