During the delivery of this valuable device, the donors were hosted by Institute for Neonatology Director Dr Niveska Bozinovic Prekajski and Institute’s Board of Directors President Professor Dusan Scepanovic. B92 Fund President Veran Matic was also present and he pointed out that the “Battle for the Babies” would continue in the Year of the Babies and that B92 Fund would continue to gather funds for the purchase of the necessary equipment for the needs of the maternity wards and children hospitals all over Serbia, within the campaign dubbed "Battle for the Maternity Wards". He once again called on all donors to strongly support the extension of the campaign. "In the months to come, we will make additional efforts to provide, apart from incubators, all the deficient equipment for our youngest citizens. It is of utmost importance that during the Year of the Babies, and in the future, we focus on solving these problems in a systematic way,” he said. “We will do our best to attract the public, the representatives of the ruling authorities and potential donors to help us provide other necessary equipment in order to secure adequate conditions for the undisturbed bringing up of our children. As a follow up of this campaign, we will try to provide reanimation tables, respirators, infusion pumps, neonatal ventilators, as well as all the other vital equipment", Matic concluded. Health Ministry State Secretary Perisa Simonovic thanked all the donors that took part in the "Battle for the Babies", as well as Draeger Company, stressing that many wealthier countries than Serbia were not in a position to solve these problems in its entirety and that therefore we needed campaigns that would include media support as well as the support of foundations and donor companies. The “Battle for the Babies” campaign will soon grow into the “Battle for the Maternity Wards” campaign. B92
