The current parliament convocation has adopted the biggest number of bills in history, but their stricter control is necessary, daily Vecernje novosti writes. Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic told the daily that future MPs would have to increase the control in the implementation of the adopted bills. MPs passed 1,000 bills in four years, daily writes “By adopting them (bills) we have created conditions for a better life but the new convocation will have to use their authority to control the implementation of the laws,” she was quoted as saying. The new MPs will vote on a certain number of bills that were sent by the government for adoption during the election campaign when parliament did not hold sessions. According to the law, the new parliament convocation must be constituted a month after the final election results are published. The parliamentary, presidential, local and provincial elections in Serbia will be held on May 6. (Beta, file) Vecernje novosti
