Head of the Kosovo District Goran Arsic and Lipljan Red Cross secretary Novica Zivic were released on Monday after spending 48 hours in custody. They were detained by the Kosovo Albanian authorities. Serb officials in Kosovo released from custody Serbia's Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic confirmed that the two officials were set free. Their lawyer Zivojin Jokanovic, stated for Tanjug that the prosecutor of the Pristina Municipal Court had not requested an extension of custody. It remains to be seen whether the prosecutor is going to give up on the case against Arsic and Zivic, who were arrested on Saturday afternoon in the village of Staro Gracko, the municipality of Lipljan. The reason for the arrest, according to Kosovo's Interior Minister Bajram Redzepi, was "a report by some persons", stating that Arsic "tried to force them to vote in Serbia's elections on May 6". Dejan Zivic, Novica's son, said his father and Arsic were accused of "violating Kosovo's constitution". After the arrest, the police searched the two men's residences and found election material in Arsic's home, "related to a previous election Serbia has held in Kosovo", said the Tanjug report. Tanjug
