In his letter to Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Boris Tadic said his decision to resign was "guided by the country's highest interests". Tadic, who heads the ruling Democratic Party, will run in the May 6 early presidential elections and seek his third term in office. His second mandate was due to expire later this year.
