Around 2,000 people gathered at a protest rally dubbed “March for Peace” in Skopje on Saturday afternoon. The march was organized by Together for Peace NGO. The participants expressed their dissatisfaction over a series of ethnically motivated conflicts that recently broke out in Macedonia. March for Peace held in Skopje The organizers read a message “We are for peace! We want to live with each other, not next to each other!” in six languages at the beginning of the rally. Macedonian President Gjorje Ivanov also took part in the march. The participants walked the central Skopje streets and famous Macedonian musician then held a concert in the City Park. One of the organizers, Ana Jovkovska, told Tanjug that the rally was organized in order to peacefully show that people wanted to live together with other ethnicities. “We want pacifism, love, friendship and we don’t want violence and manipulations. We have had enough of political games because we want to live together in peace,” she stressed. (Tanjug) Tanjug
