Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic says positive effects of the Brussels agreement would be annulled if the government changed its policy. “All positive effects of the Brussels agreement will be denied and destroyed if the Serbian authorities offer only new phrases to the society instead of a new policy,” he told a press conference. LDP leader: Govt. must change its policy The LDP leader stressed that his party supported the agreements on Kosovo’s regional representation and the integrated border management, adding that they were important “only because they open up a possibility for Serbia to lead a new policy”. “We support the Brussels agreement but we are at the same time concerned about the policy our state chose after that,” Jovanovic explained. He said that, bearing in mind the speed of Serbia’s EU integration and Serbian President Boris Tadic’s decision to “deny the society political truths”, Serbia would need “at least a lifetime” to get a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks and “who knows how many lifetimes” to become an EU member.
