Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has assessed that Belgrade and Pristina will reach an agreement on Kosovo’s regional representation. “Serbia will recognize Kosovo’s independence with the agreement that will be reached in Brussels today. It will accept Kosovo’s Declaration of Independence while (UN Security Council) Resolution 1244 is dead and it will remain dead,” he told Pristina-based Albanian language daily Express. Kosovo PM expects agreement, "Serbia's recognition" Thaci said after U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns’ visit that an agreement was reached to represent Kosovo with a footnote that would contain the Declaration of Independence, opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the unilaterally declared independence and the UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Serbian officials stated that mentioning of the Declaration of Independence was unacceptable but that a compromise regarding citing of the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the ICJ’s opinion could be found. The Belgrade-Pristina dialogue continued in Brussels today and the main topic is Kosovo’s regional representation.
