The Belgrade-Pristina talks should be continued in Brussels on Wednesday and the main topic should be Kosovo’s regional representation. Serbian government's Media Office Chief Milivoje Mihajlovic has stated that it is realistic to expect that Belgrade and Pristina will reach an agreement today or tomorrow. Govt. official expects deal in Kosovo talks He told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) that the agreement was realistic because it was necessary for the common life of all the people in Kosovo. “The entire international community and the West and the East are in favor of solving problems through the dialogue and there is no reason to believe that the agreement will not be reached,” Mihajlovic stressed. According to him, Serbia wants to reach an agreement and wants the provisional Pristina authorities to be represented in the international meetings but in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and international documents “without a symbolic and essential attestation to Kosovo’s independence which does not exist”. “Political games surrounding the dialogue from the so-called Pristina kitchen aim at strengthening the position of the ruling team in Pristina and their purpose is internal politics. Insisting that the ‘Republic of Kosovo’ must be written is nonsense that has no other purpose than to indulge the right-wing team in Pristina,” Mihajlovic explained. He added that a new wave of pressure from the international community would hit both Belgrade and Pristina if the two teams failed to reach an agreement. “The decision on the EU candidate status for the great part depends on today’s negotiations,” the government European Integration Office Director Milica Delevic has said. “The success of the dialogue of course depends on both sides’ positions but also on understanding that progress of both sides is a mutual interest,” she told daily Danas. The daily has unofficially learnt that Germany wants the agreement to be reached today due to some internal political issues. The talks should continue today. The negotiations were postponed on Tuesday since Pristina delegation did not arrive in Brussels in time. (file) B92 Tanjug RTS, Danas
