FM Vuk Jeremic said on Wednesday that a majority of EU countries have already decided to support granting the EU candidate status to Serbia in March. However, such outcome of Serbia's bid "cannot be guaranteed", noted the foreign minister. FM: Majority in favor of Serbia's candidacy Jeremic said in a statement for Tanjug after a meeting with Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi in Rome that at this point it is not possible to predict the outcome of the next meeting of EU foreign ministers, but that there is still room for reaching a consensus of all EU member-states on granting the candidate status to Serbia. We are devoted to finding a solution, we found a series of bilateral mechanisms for consultations and remain closely associated not only with those who have already decided to support us, but also with those who have not made their decision, Jeremic told Tanjug. He added that Serbia is facing several weeks of comprehensive diplomatic engagement aimed at the European process. Jeremic said that the technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is an important part of the decision-taking among the EU member-states and expressed belief that those who are engaged in the dialogue will do the best possible job. Jeremic is on one-day visit to Rome during which he met with Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi and with President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini. After his meeting with iulio Terzi, Jeremic said that the preparations for the summit are underway, and that Belgrade will host the entire Italian government headed by Prime Minister Mario Monti. It will be an honor to welcome the Italian government, Jeremic said. This, however, will not be the only opportunity for representatives of the Italian government to visit the capital of Serbia, Jeremic noted and added that a ministerial meeting of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative would be held in Belgrade in April. One of the participants of the meeting will be Giulio Terzi, he said. Serbian currently chairs the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative. Tanjug
