The ruling Democrats (DS) says the hesitation of the opposition Serb Progressives (SNS) to state its position on Kosovo is "ultimate political cowardice". Political cowards, a DS statement issued in Belgrade on Tuesday further reads, "should not aspire to run the country". Democrats dub rival party "political cowards" "Just like they did not state their position on the arrest of Ratko Mladic or the barricades, the SNS were reluctant to state their position on Kosovo, trying to ingratiate themselves with both organizers of the referendum in the north and the international public," the DS statement reads. According to the Democrats, SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic's statement that he does not want to state his opinion so that his opponents would not steal his ideas was "ultimate political immaturity": "We encourage Tomislav Nikolic to freely disclose his ideas without being afraid that someone would steal them, because the so-called grand ideas of Tomislav Nikolic were mainly those of Serbia's disgrace and collapse, just like the idea that Serbia should be a black hole in the European carpet, and parliament a shelter for Mladic," the DS statement reads. According to the DS, "a man running for president and prime minister of Serbia should above all have an opinion on most important state issues, and not only those that fulfill his personal and political ambitions". Parliamentary elections are expected to take place in the spring. The SNS is currently polling as the country's most popular party. Tanjug
