Kosovo MP Rada Trajkovic says that the referendum in northern Kosovo is aimed at undermining Serbia’s EU perspective. She has called on the Belgrade authorities to prevent the referendum from being held. “Referendum in north will undermine Serbia” “A serious state, and I want to believe that my state is such, would cancel the referendum at the first (Serbian) parliament session or, if parliament does not have the strength for this, it would be canceled by the (Serbian) government,” Trajkovic told Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik. According to her, the Serbian government needs to come out and say that it would cancel the referendum. “There has been enough of mimicry. There has been enough of (Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica) Dacic’ slogans, while his Socialists are supporting the holding of the referendum,“ she was quoted as saying. Trajkovic assessed that the referendum in northern Kosovo was legally “quite funny” and contrary to the Serbian Constitution. She called on Serbian President Boris Tadic to call all Kosovo Serb representatives, both from the north and the south, to a meeting in order to present them his announced plan for Kosovo. “Let’s hear his ideas, instead of letting these four northern Kosovo mayors kick down the cabinets’ doors in Belgrade. We keep fulfilling their wishes. All this reminds me of Slobodan Milosevic’s time when people from Kosovo Polje used to barge in and dicate what would be done and how it would be done. And this is what we got...,“ Trajkovic pointed out. Rada Trajkovic (Beta) Beta
