Serb Radical Party (SRS) deputy leader Dragan Todorovic believes that the elections will be held by the end of February. He added that the elections will be held in May only if the government made an agreement with the EU regarding the EU candidate status. Elections by end of February, SRS official claims The SRS official told daily Danas that the EU would condition the candidate status with acceptance of Kosovo’s independent participation at regional meetings. He stressed that Kosovo had been given all attributes of statehood and that it would be done with its regional presentation as well, adding that this would not happen before the elections were held in Serbia. Todorovic believes that the Democratic Party (DS) and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) would form the new ruling majority because they would be forced “by the same European master”. He assessed that the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) would join the coalition as well. The SRS official stressed that the third most powerful party after the elections would be SRS and that the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) would benefit the most because its conditions to join any coalition would be set rather high. “As far as the SRS is concerned, we certainly can’t cooperate with (Liberal Democratic Party) LDP, League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) or with the traitors from the SNS. There is no chance of a coalition with the DS on a republic level either, but I don’t rule it out on a local level,” he concluded. Dragan Todorovic Danas Tanjug
