Government fulfilled “most of EU goals”

League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) leader Nenad Canak has stated that Mirko Cvetkovic's government has fulfilled the majority of Serbia's EU goals. He noted, however, that the broad coalition gathered in the government did not have the capacity to offer more systemic solutions for Vojvodina. Government fulfilled “most of EU goals” "While creating the election coalition in 2008 and forming the government, priorities were clear - the liberalization of the visa regime, completion of cooperation with the Hague Tribunal and adoption of laws from the European agenda. We did those things successfully, because they were unquestionable," he told Belgrade-based daily Danas. According to Canak, the whole coalition that was created so as to form Cvetkovic's government was simply not able to reach systemic and strategic solutions. "Probably the only systemic thing that Vojvodina obtained is the right to property. This does not mean that all property was returned, quite the opposite. But the very fact that a possibility was created for Vojvodina to have its own property fulfilled one of the five main program goals that LSV has in the domain of Vojvodina autonomy," he underlined. The LSV leader reiterated that these included legal, executive, judicial authority, right to property and source income, all of which was guaranteed by the Constitution. "This means that this part of our program is complete," Canak stressed. He said that LSV would once again take part in the elections in coalition with the Democratic Party (DS).
