Serbian Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic has stated that the barricade removal process needs to be finished as soon as possible, without excuses and delays. “The reasons for the existence of barricades are gone and they (the barricades) have fulfilled their purpose and achieved their goal,” he explained. "Barricades need to be removed as soon as possible" “They have prevented a unilateral and violent establishment of Pristina’s institutions in the north and contributed to reaching of the agreements. The state leadership has sent a clear message to remove the barricades and this needs to be done, without any stalling,” the minister pointed out. He assessed that one “can not swear on the state on one hand, and question its decisions on the other”, adding that the barricades were counter-productive now. “The process of the barricade removal which has started, needs to be finished as soon as possible, without delays and excuses,” Bogdanovic noted. He added that Serbia without Serbs could not protect its state sovereignty and integrity and that Kosovo Serbs could not survive without Serbia in the southern province. The minister also stressed that KFOR and EULEX needed to strictly adhere to their status neutral mandate. Commenting on the agreement on the integrated control of the crossings in northern Kosovo, Bogdanovic said that the agreement protected Serbia’s national and state interests, Constitution and UN Security Council Resolution 1244. “It is important that the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings have maintained the form of administrative crossings, that there are no so-called state markings on them, that these crossings are separated compared to the others and that Kosovo Serbs are allowed to enter and exit the province with their documents and license plates,” the minister for Kosovo concluded.
