Pristina team chief Edita Tahiri has assessed that five EU member states that still have not recognized Kosovo will do so in the future. “I am sure that the five EU member states that have not recognized our independence will do so in the future and realize and recognize Kosovo’s independence and a new reality in the Balkans – that there are seven countries that came from the former Yugoslavia,” she told Turkish daily Zaman. Pristina team chief: Entire EU will recognize Kosovo “With the decision made at the last EU summit, which brings Kosovo closer to the EU, even the five countries that don’t recognize us voted in favor of Kosovo. These are the first signs that they are moving from non-recognition to recognition,” Tahiri was quoted as saying. When asked whether Kosovo would continue the dialogue if Serbia did not implement the agreements that had been reached, she said that Kosovo was committed to the dialogue and regional cooperation. “We believe the future of the region is in the dialogue and cooperation. We are in favor of the dialogue. However, what we want to see is the EU, as a guarantor, make progress by using diplomacy and postpone candidacy,” the Pristina team chief pointed out. She added that both Kosovo and Serbia’s EU integration would take time. Edita Tahiri (Tanjug, file)
