High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina Valentin Inzko stated that the Chinese-Taiwanese model could serve as a solution to the Kosovo issue. “The model of China and Taiwan is a possibility but right now, pragmatism is needed most,” Inzko said. High rep: China-Taiwan model for Kosovo “Intensive cooperation in all areas would bring most benefits to Serbs in central and southern Kosovo, even without a formal recognition of independence,” he told Vienna-based daily Kurier. The high representative expressed expectation that both Serbia and Montenegro would hear good news at the next EU summit in March 2012. When it comes to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Inzko underscored that the Dayton Bosnia should first become fully functional and that all citizens should get a chance to run for all government offices through a change in the Constitution. “Minorities are excluded from this point for now, and in the long-run, full Bosnia-Herzegovina’s membership in the EU and NATO is the only perspective,” the Austrian diplomat said. He ruled out the possibility of Republic of Srpska (RS) seceding from Bosnia-Herzegovina. “This would be a posthumous success of (former Yugoslav President) Slobodan Milosevic and a proof that ethnic cleansing pays off,” Inzko said and added that the international community would never agree to this, nor would he accept it as the high international representative. “The disintegration of Yugoslavia is over and there will be no further divisions,” Inzko was quoted as saying.
