Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said late Friday there would be no changes in the country's foreign policy course. He explained that the political course set both Kosovo and the EU as priorities, as “one cannot go without the other.” “Serbia will give up neither EU nor Kosovo” “There will certainly be no changes in the foreign policy course because we do not have the political right to make any such move, since that policy is the one that actually got the citizens' support,” Jeremic told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). “Preserving the territorial integrity of Kosovo is not only an obligation of the state, but also a basic need, because if the state gave up on this, the tearing up of the state would not end there and similar problems would break out in other parts of Serbia as well,” the foreign minister stressed. He pointed out that Serbia's commitment to the European course was an attempt to achieve a better life for the citizens of Serbia, a pursuit that should not be given up. “We must be patient, building European standards and making concrete steps, and wait for the opportune moment,” said Jeremic. The Serbian foreign minister said that there were voices opposing the adoption of the resolution on illegal trade in human organs in Kosovo in the UN Security Council, stressing that the people who opposed the investigation into organ trafficking “will lose all moral credibility and a chance to talk about crimes and human rights.” Jeremic also said that the UN Security Council might very soon - towards the very end of the current year or in the early days of 2012 - vote on the resolution on the investigation into human organ trafficking in Kosovo.
