Russian Ambassador in Serbia Aleksandr Konuzin says his country will not take part in the ongoing technical negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina. "Russia's position on those negotiations is well known. We do not intent to join them," he told Belgrade-based Danas newspaper. Russian ambassador: We won't interfere The diplomat added that Moscow will not interfere in the ever more visible political differences between official Belgrade and Serbs from northern Kosovo, says the daily. Konuzin appraised that "European parters" were putting their political goals above the notions of legality, universally accepted rules and fair play, after the EU mission in the province, EULEX, held a Russian humanitarian aid for Serbs held at the administrative crossing of Jarinje for three days last week: "My personal experience in communication with the EU rule of law mission (EULEX) confirmed a tendency that appeared in our European partners - to be guided in international affairs above all by political reasons, even if that does not confirm to reality or universally accepted rules and fair play. I am not ruling out that the Europeans, as it happens, were pressured." "The humanitarian convoy of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations was first given the green light to pass at Jarine, but then the convoy was blocked. And all this took place although we were assured beforehand that the road was open. In the same way, the EU was guided by political interests during the recent operation in Libya, when it stepped outside relevant UN SC resolutions. A for EULEX's decision about Serbia's candidacy made on December 9, here too the EU started from political goals, that is to impose new conditions. This tactic will continue," said Konuzin. Russia, its top diplomat in Serbia stated, will continue to offer humanitarian, but also political and diplomatic assistance to Serbia: "I confirm it: the Russian Federation intends to in the future, within its possibilities, offer to Serbia every form of help: political and diplomatic, above all at the UN Security Council, as well as humanitarians and other assistance. The Constitution, state institutions, local self-government organs, political parties are functioning in the country... Russia is not interfering here." Konuzin at Jarinje last week (Tanjug)
