More than 50 freighters are stranded in the Danube River near the Bulgarian town of Svishtov due to low waters, the lowest recorded in the past 250 years. The port of Svishtov cautioned that some vessels have been blocked for more than three months, adding that the low water level have also impeded the movement of small vessels, which can only sail with one third of cargo.
